Zachary M. Arthurs, MD

“Surgery is the last result. Each patient has unique factors, conditions, and desired outcomes. For this reason, I want to tailor specific approach to each patient's and desires. My approach is to exhaust all nonoperative therapies and medical therapies in order to ensure the patient can continue with her very active lifestyle's. When surgery is needed, I favor a minimally invasive approach that may require staged procedures so that the patient's recovery time is minimal, and they can return to their activities as soon as possible.”
With numerous years of experience in all aspects of spine surgery, Dr. Arthurs utilizes modern technologies to provide patients with a minimally invasive yet maximally effective vascular treatments. I work in a collaborative medical team of professionals that respects the subtleties and precision and importance of peripheral arterial disease and shares the same passion for saving limbs and maintaining patient's independence.
I work collaboratively with the patient's to educate and empower them to make fully informed decisions about their vascular care. I tailor my approach to the patient's unique surgical needs when a procedure is appropriate.
Dr. Arthurs is a board-certified vascular surgeon, received his undergraduate degree from United States military Academy at West Point, his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma before completing his general surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington state. He then completed his vascular surgery fellowship at the procedure as Cleveland clinic foundation Hospital in Cleveland Ohio.
Dr. Arthurs has been board-certified since 2008. Serving as the chief of vascular is San Antonio Medical Center, Dr. Arthurs directed the busiest vascular service and the department of defense. He is supported multiple leadership roles to include Chief of vascular, Vice Chief of surgery, and he served 10 years on the general vascular surgery editorial board. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed articles advancing vascular care through basic science research and clinical trials. He currently serves on multiple industry advisory boards as well as on the date of safety and monitoring boards for national trials. He is nationally recognized for his contributions to vascular care, and remains committed to improving the vascular care across South Carolina.
